The Worldwide Market for Mobile Handsets
Research and Markets has just published a report on the global mobile handset market. The full report costs about $3,000, but the press release offers up some highlights:
Share shift: In 2006 they expect gains by Samsung, LG and Sony Ericsson and share loss by Nokia. However, they see Nokia maintaining its wide lead over number 2 Motorola.
Slowing growth: The firm predicts growth to slow from the 10% gains in 2005 (to 816.5 million units) to 7.7% in 2006, 6.4% in 2007, 4.8% in 2008 and 2.6% in 2009.
