More News on the Flat Panel Front

Samsung saw a drop in overall LCD sales but strength in large TV’s. They are not worried about their inventory levels, which remained at 8 days. LG Philips has three weeks of inventory, but claims that is because it is shipping fewer panels by air and thus keeping them on the books during a longer transit time. Reality check - if customers were clamoring for fast delivery they would still be using air. The fact that they are not is a sign of a cooling market.

Meanwhile, connector maker P-Two has seen profits soar on the back of the boom in overall LCD sales. These derivative plays may (or may not - it depends on the relative supply and demand dynamics of the LCD market vs the connector market) hold up better in the face of what looks to be a tough market for the panel makers.
