HP Getting Cocky

According to CNET News.com Hewlett Packard (HPQ - Annual Report) says they are gaining share of the business market from DELL due to customer dissatisfaction with DELL’s service. As the chart below indicates, this is not much of a surprise. Everyone is well aware that Hewlett Packard is recovering and DELL is faltering. Yet now Hewlett executives feel compelled to talk about it.

Note to HP: You still operate in an intensely competitive industry and DELL, as you may surely have painful memories, is no slouch. So your best bet may be to shut your collective traps and get back to work. You have plenty ahead of you (see the SeekingAlpha comments on our recent printer industry piece if you aren’t sure what we’re referring to.)
