DELL’s Idea of Stylin’
DELL (DELL) has made its name by being the low-cost provider in a commoditized market, which is certainly a strategy that has served it well. Apple (AAPL) has made its name by designing cool products. Recently Apple has been the more successful company, so it is probably no surprise that DELL wants to see if it can capture some of that mojo.
Witness the “desknote,” aka what happens when the low cost provider tries its hand at design.

We just hope Michael Dell’s $3 million share purchase wasn’t because he knew this was in the pipeline.
