Tech Beat
Earlier in the week CDW Corporation (CDWC), the leading reseller of technology products to business and government, reported August sales that looked to be a mixed bag. Average daily sales growth of 7.5% were a significant improvement from the 4.9% in July, and in the range that justifies optimism on business spending. However, it wasn’t the businesses that were spending.
Average daily sales for the public sector segment increased 23.9 percent, and slipped 0.2 percent for the corporate sector segment. Product categories that achieved strongest year-over-year unit volume growth for the month on an average daily basis included notebook CPUs, software, printers, video, memory and input devices.
The company places the blame for the decline in corporate sales on restructuring its sales force. The tech bulls had better hope they are right, because business spending is badly needed for the bullish scenario to play out.

We say having the orders is one thing. Filling them may be another.
